General: For most matters, Larranaga Law charges a standard hourly rate of $280 an hour. Please note that this rate may be reduced for past clients.

Contingency: Due to the risk associated with contingency fee arrangements, a higher rate is charged. The rate depends on the type of case and the complexity.

Compare: Each law firm charges its own unique rates. As such, potential clients should take the time to shop around. Larranaga Law primarily focuses on real estate, contracts, and litigation. These areas of practice tend to bill higher than other practice areas.

Please be warned that these numbers may not be accurate: For example, the Clio Trends Report for 2022 suggests that an attorney practicing in the real estate section on average may bill from $288-$307 an hour (Non-state specific). This increased in the 2023 report to $328-$354 an hour (Non-state specific). The 2017 Economics of Law Practice Survey conducted by the CBA suggests that the 50th median percentile for attorneys practicing in the real estate area was $275 an hour. Although, surveys, compilation, and internet sources are rarely accurate, they tend to show an overall increase in cost in the legal industry which makes sense given the current trajectory of inflation. Therefore, it is important to shop around because rates vary.

Larranaga Law’s hourly rate is 100% subjective. I look at various internet sources, trend reports, and other sources and attempt to develop a competitive rate every year. For 2024, the rate will be on average $280 an hour.
