Michael J. Larranaga, Esq, Colorado Attorney, Larranaga Law

Michael J. Larranaga, Esq.

I graduated from Denver University’s Sturm College of Law in 2020. Shortly after I passed the bar exam with a score of 327. To compare, Colorado only requires a score of 270 to pass (Minimum Passing Scores). Most lawyers will tell you that the bar exam score does not matter, and they are right to a point. But the bar exam like law school is a building block. It represents lots of hard work.

Since opening for business in 2021, I have handled breach of contract actions, partition actions, fraud actions, forcible entry and detainer actions, security deposit actions, pursued claims, defended parties, negotiated and drafted commercial leases, and so on. I have faced self-represented parties and senior attorneys with much more experience than myself and have done relatively well. While I am not always successful, I put up a hard fight. That is my promise to all my clients. While I may not always win, I will fight hard to win your case and achieve the best outcome possible.

I believe that the judiciary is a sacred institution, and it needs to be treated that way. Moses himself acted as a judge in the bible. But it is important to understand that the judiciary is made up of human beings and does error. Lawyers sometimes mistake the law, judges sometimes misinterpret the law, and parties sometimes tell half-truths or lie. It is a mixture of humanity. As such, I focus on providing the judiciary with hard facts and clear legal citations. While a case may often turn on storytelling, truth often does have a way of prevailing.

I offer both in-person services and virtual services depending on each individual’s needs. As such, I practice throughout the state.

I have practiced in multiple counties at this point. If it is located along the I-25 or I-70 corridor, I consider it.

Prior to becoming an attorney, I worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for the majority of my professional career working with publicly traded companies and federal and state agencies.

In terms of my personal life, I am happily married. In 2020, we welcomed a new baby into the world. I hold a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as various minor belts in other disciplines. I still enjoy hiking and fishing when I get the chance. Like I said, we are all human. Often in law that is forgotten.
