The Three Pillars

Although Larranaga Law consists of only one licensed attorney, Larranaga Law prides itself on providing a diverse range of legal services to a wide range of people. Often, a Lawyer’s attitude is just as important as any work that they perform because that attitude flows into their work. As such, Larranaga Law is founded on three pillars.

Hard Work

Hard work in this context means giving each case the attention that it deserves.

Integrity

Integrity in the context means using honest rule-based arguments as the backbone of your actions.

“Never stray from the Way.” -Miyamoto Musashi

Professionalism

Professionalism means conducting yourself in a respectful and professional fashion without regard to how an adverse party may act.

The simplest principles can often be the hardest to uphold.

Nobody is perfect. As such, Larranaga Law does not make promises as to outcomes or results. Rather, we strive to achieve the best possible outcome using the three pillars illustrated above.

Primary Areas Of Practice

  • I handle a variety of real estate-related areas including land contracts, leases, deeds, and other.

Real Estate Law is diverse and covers a wide range of topics including litigation, contract drafting, working with relators, and so.

  • I handle a wide variety of contract issues including drafting and litigation.

I often find a well-written contract can keep the parties out of litigation.

The goal of a contract is to accomplish a task efficiently and with minimal conflict. IE, you should not be in litigation every few months. Rather, your contract should clearly define expectations and role.

  • I handle both landlord and tenant issues. In addition, I handle both residential and commercial matters.

Commercial matters include lease negotiations and litigation.

Residential matters include eviction, unlawful evictions, theft, and other landlord-tenant issues.

  • I handle a variety of situations.

Among those are situations involving unmarried couples that own property together.

This type of cases creates a variety of unique situations. They tend to overlap into real estate law, personal property law, contract law, domestic abuse, and litigation.

  • I handle a variety of litigation issues.

My goal when representing a Plaintiff in litigation or when asserting a counterclaim is to gather a clear and supportable set of facts while employing strong legal arguments. It seems simple but that is the key to litigation in my mind.

A person that is honest, provides support for their position, and puts in the legwork can often overcome many obstacles.

As such, for Plaintiffs, please reach out sooner rather than later. It takes time to develop a strong case. Most Plaintiffs are on a deadline. Most states have some sort of statute of limitations that can effectively kill a claim. Colorado is no different.

  • It is a scary prospect getting a summons and complaint in the mail asking for a ton of money.

My goal when representing a defendant in litigation is to give honest advice and formulate strong defenses. The goal with a defense is to provide a legally defensible position based on facts. In addition, I like to look further into the case to see if there are other possibilities.

As such, for Defendants, please reach out the day you get the summons. If you are retained as a client, I need time to gather facts to formulate a defense, discuss settlement, formulate a offensive, if applicable, and look at the overall situation.

  • I am a general practice attorney meaning I handle a wide variety of legal issues. In my opinion, the law tends to overlap in many areas.

While it is good to specialize in a handful of areas it is also important to take a step back and look at the entire story.

A good portion of my job is looking at a set of facts, trying to pick out red flags, and researching those red flags. Often those red flags can lead to some great legal arguments. They can also be the downfall of a case.
